NEW YORK, NY, July 30th, 2001 - There’s something new and very exciting happening at Cliff Young, Ltd., one of Manhattan’s premier resources for contemporary furniture and home furnishings. A new generation, in the person of Leslie Young, the thirty-something daughter of the founder, has taken the reins - with an enthusiastic commitment to keeping the company at the cutting-edge of home-furniture design and manufacture.

Leslie, a graduate of the State University of New York, joined her father’s firm right after graduation in 1988 and is now Vice President of the company. While her father Cliff, who continues as CEO, is still very active in the company, Leslie has launched a host of initiatives aimed at maintaining the company’s reputation among designers, architects, and decorators as a complete and innovative resource for contemporary furniture.

"My dad is such a legend to me and others in the industry," Leslie states, "I find it challenging and inspiring to follow in his footsteps."

The new designs that are in ample evidence in the showroom embody a sophisticated look that’s right for today. The pieces are softer, less "glitzy," if you will, and sure to delight the members of the yuppie generation of which Leslie and her new design team are a part.

To keep Cliff Young, Ltd., at the cutting-edge of contemporary furniture, Leslie surrounded herself with a very talented, young-thinking staff. Their new approach is most evident in the spectacular display just installed, titled "Designing the Millennium Home Theater." The design is a tribute to the youth of the design department, as well as their century of combined experience.

Realizing that home theater is the most rapidly growing segment of home furniture design, Leslie vowed that Cliff Young, Ltd., would be a leader in the field. She directed her staff of architects and designers to create the most spectacular home theater ever to appear in a showroom and attributes much of its success to them.

For the home theater, as with every Cliff Young, Ltd., project, all design, fabrication and installation was executed in-house. To insure excellence in every aspect, the company selected products from the finest manufacturers of home electronics, such as Marantz, Infinity and Crestron. The spectacular result is now on display in the showroom.

What does dad think of it? Leslie and other members of the design staff recently found him sitting in one of the large, comfortable Ultrasuede recliners in the home theater, viewing, with apparent delight, a musical show on the large plasma screen TV. When questioned about the experience, he seemed every bit as excited about the new installation as his daughter, replying enthusiastically, "I love it!"

Obviously, the fortunate gentleman has found in Leslie someone who shares his vision - and the perfect person to carry the innovative tradition of Cliff Young, Ltd., into the 21st Century.
